These terms explain what you can expect from Pencilstep and your responsibilities when using it.
What the service does
Pencilstep helps you prepare and review answers for official forms. DS-160 preparation is available now: the questions are those the official form asks at the US Embassy in Warsaw, and for a visitor (B1/B2) visa they were checked to be the same at ten embassies and consulates, Warsaw among them. We plan to add ESTA and other forms; these are not yet available, and release dates are not yet set.
An independent preparation tool
Pencilstep is an independent preparation tool with no government, embassy or immigration-authority affiliation. The guidance helps explain the questions and provides general information, not legal or immigration advice.
You handle signing, submission and any official fees. Pencilstep does not guarantee a visa or other outcome.
Your answers and your submission
Provide accurate information, review every answer and follow the current instructions on the official website. You are responsible for transferring, signing and submitting your application, meeting deadlines and paying any official fees. Translated guidance does not replace the official requirements or translate the answers you enter.
Accounts and other people’s information
Keep account credentials private and use the service only for lawful purposes. Enter another person’s information only with their permission. Do not attempt to access another person’s account, interfere with the service or bypass its access controls.
Saving your applications
Your local drafts stay in this browser on this device. Clearing browser data can erase them. The privacy notice explains account storage and removal.
Keep a copy of important information so you have it if the service is unavailable or changes as it develops.
Service changes and your rights
We may update the service and these terms; the date above identifies this version. Review the current terms when returning. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
